Meeting Cancelled – 13th September

Please be aware that the Parish Council meeting due to be held on Tuesday 13th September has been cancelled out of respect for Her Majesty the Queen.  The country is currently in a period of mourning and it was felt that it would not be appropriate to hold a meeting during this time.

Thank you

Annual Parish Meeting – Tuesday 11th May 7.30pm

The Annual Parish Meeting is due to be held on Tuesday 11th May at 7.30 pm.

Current legislation dictates that meetings now have to be held in-person again and no longer via Zoom.  However, Covid-19 guidelines still apply and because of the 2 mt social distancing that is included within those guidelines, this means that space in the Village Hall will be very limited.

There will be space for only 4 Parishioners in the Village Hall but we are providing a Zoom link to run alongside the meeting, to which all Parishioners are welcome to join in.

If you would like to take up one of the 4 seats in the Village Hall, please contact the Clerk at [email protected] and it will be done on a first come first served basis.

For the Zoom details see as follows:

Meeting ID: 990 492 3599

Passcode: PCRemote

The Parish Council meeting will take place directly after the Annual Parish Meeting.

From July onwards, we are hoping that ‘normal’ business will resume!

In Memory of HRH Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh – Book of Condolence

We are so very sorry to hear of the death of HRH Prince Philip, earlier today, 9th April.

Please be informed that there will a book of Condolence at Beighton Church from Saturday 10th April to Sunday 18th April.

There will be loose leaves for you to either fill in with your message of condolence in the church, or for you to take away and complete at home, to return to the church later.  These will be collected together  and bound into a leather Condolence Book which will eventually be given to the Norfolk Records Office for historical archiving.

There is also a condolence book which can be signed online at the The Royal website – please click here.

Broadland District Council also has a book of condolence, to which you can send your messages by clicking here

Broadland Community Lottery

Broadland District Council is launching the Broadland Community at Heart Lottery to help raise funds for and to support local charities.  Lottery tickets cost £1 each with 60% going towards the charity / good cause and the other 40% going towards the prize money.  The supporter will be able to choose which good cause they want their ticket money to go towards.  There will be a weekly draw with a jackpot of £25,000.

Broadland District Council are looking for Broadland-based clubs, non-profit associations or charities which are looking for a reliable and free way to raise funds.  If you are involved in a charity or a good cause which may be suitable for the lottery, please send the details to either the Parish Clerk ([email protected] 01493 701901) or to Broadland District Council direct, via Jessica Ransome [email protected] 01508 533654.

The first tickets will be on sale on 12th January, with the first draw taking place on the 27th February.

Dog Fouling

Please would all dog walkers be reminded to pick up after their dogs and use the dog bins provided.   Although the majority do there are, unfortunately, still those who don’t make the effort to do such a simple thing.  Not doing so is not only disgusting, lazy and unnecessary but is also completely disrespectful to everyone who wishes to use the pavements and footpaths in the parish.  Thank you to those of you who do already clear up after your dogs.
