Community Speedwatch

Speedwatch has started in Beighton

The new group has been trained and is up and running. But more volunteers are needed to make the group viable.

Would you be interested in joining the new Community Speedwatch group in Beighton?

Volunteers receive training and then, in groups of 3, monitor vehicle speeds at sites in the village approved by the Police, using a “speed gun”. The number plates of those who are driving in excess of the speed limit are sent to the Police who then send the drivers a warning letter. Many villages find that these community speedwatch groups can be very effective in slowing down traffic.

Volunteers would need to be DBS checked.
